2019 Beginner’s Case Competition

Our 7th Annual Beginner’s Case Competition will be held from Thursday, October 17, 2019 to Friday, October 25, 2019. This week-long competition is strictly for beginners with no prior consulting or case competition experience.

1) Information Session

• Introduction to case competitions
• Date: Thursday, October 17, 2019
• Time: 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM

2) Coaches’ Corner

• Present your work thus far and receive feedback.
• Date: Tuesday, October 22, 2019
• Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
• Location: TBA

3) Case Competition!

• Date: Friday, October 25, 2019
• Time: 5:30 PM – 8:30 PM
• Location: TBA
• Ticket Price: $40/ team

4) Networking Event

• Takes place following the competition, so you can network and/or get feedback.
• Date: Friday, October 25, 2019
• Time: 8:30 PM – 10:00 PM
• Location: TBA

APPLICATION:
To take part in the beginner’s case competition, it is necessary that each participant has no prior consulting or case competition experience. Participants must be current graduate students, professional degree students, or post-doctoral fellows at a Canadian university. Teams can have up to four (4) members. A maximum of one (1) current undergraduate, MBA student, or graduate alumnus is allowed to enter per team. If you’d like to participate but don’t have a full team, please do the following before the deadline: 1) fill out the application form and indicate the current number of team members and; 2) reach out to us at info@gmcacanada.com to inform us of the situation. We can assist you in assembling a team; however, we cannot guarantee that this will be the case depending on applicant availability.

All complete teams will be notified on Monday, October 14, 2019 with the room and location of the Information Session and a ticket payment invitation of $40 per team payable prior to the competition. Team payment is due by 11:59 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2019. A participant package, which encloses the competition details/rules and case details, will be provided to teams that completed their payment.

2019 Invictus Analytics and Strategy Info Session

Consultants from Invictus Analytics + Strategy will be present to deliver more information to prospective candidates regarding the firm and the recruitment process.

2019 What’s Consulting? Information Session & Panel

“What’s Consulting?” will be an information session and a panel discussion involving multiple consultants from renowned consulting firms.

Our goal is to enable graduate students to understand the daily work of consultants and how their non-business background can provide valuable skills that are sought after by such firms.

The event registration is $5, and light refreshments will be served. If interested, you can register for the event here.
