UBC GMCA 2016 Case Cracking Workshop

workshopDate: April 8th
Time: TBA
Location: McKinsey & Company Downtown Vancouver office

Dr. Mohammad Behnam and Dr. Ben Paylor from McKinsey & Company have offered to host a case cracking workshop for a selected group of graduate students interested in management consulting. Because of the limited numbers of spots available we require an application process. Ideally, you will have some experience solving interview style cases (an asset but not mandatory).

Send us your business resume (2 pages max) and a short paragraph stating why are you interested in attending the case cracking workshop. Please e-mail the package as one PDF file to gmca.ubc@gmail.com

UBC GMCA 2016: From PhD to Management Consulting Talks: Info Session

From PhD to Management Consulting Talks: Information Session

Management Consultants apply critical-thinking skills to solve complex problems faced by businesses, from mining to biotech companies. They identify issues, form hypotheses, conduct analyses, formulate recommendations, and discuss them with the client’s management.

MohammadMany PhD graduates choose consulting because they find they can apply their problem-solving skills in new ways, work within stimulating team settings, and make measurable impact more quickly and more often.

In this info session, you will hear more about management consulting from Mohammad Behnam, Ph.D. He is an Engagement Manager at McKinsey & Company, an inventor, and an entrepreneur.

ChristopherYou will also learn about the consulting recruitment process from the perspective of a current UBC PhD student who secured a job offer from Boston Consulting Group (BCG) last year. Christopher Roach is in the Genome Science and Technology Program. He has been part of the UBC Board of Governors, and Senate, and he is also a former President of the Graduate Student Society.

Join us at Thea’s lounge at the Graduate Student Centre on March 11th at 5:45 pm. Snacks will be provided.
