GMCA 2017-2018 Executive Committee Election

Dear GMCA members,

The GMCA is calling all graduate students and advanced degree trainees to be part of the 2017-2018 Executive Committee. For those who are considering a career in consulting, this is an amazing opportunity to build on your experiences and gain access to resources and networks within the GMCA community. In fact, the vast majority of past GMCA executives have since transitioned into some of the top consulting firms.

To learn more about the available positions and responsibilities, please visit the Executive Committee Positions 2017-2018 page. If you are interested, please submit your application on GMCA 2017-2018 Application page by Monday, June 19th, 11:59pm.

The election will take place on Wednesday, June 21st, 2017, 6-7pm, at Bahen Centre, Room 2135 (40 St. George Street). Each candidate will give an election speech (90 seconds maximum) on why you want to run for the position and initiatives you would champion if elected.

All GMCA members are welcomed to join us and vote for the candidates. We look forward to seeing you there!

GMCA 2017 Master Case Interview Series (MCIS)

Dear GMCA Member,

We are excited to invite you to our newest program this year – Master Case Interview Series (MCIS). This training program is designed to prepare graduate students and advanced professional degree candidates (Masters, PhDs, Post-Docs, MDs, and JDs), who will be entering the upcoming recruitment cycle in the summer or fall of 2017.

The MCIS program consists of 8 sessions between May 22nd and June 9th, 2017, from 6-8pm at University of Toronto. Led by experienced consultants from various firms, this comprehensive and highly interactive training program will help you kickstart the case interview preparation process. You will learn:

  1. How to crack a case
  2. Various firm specific case interview styles
  3. Industry specific knowledge

Together, we aim to help you succeed in your upcoming consulting interview!

If you are interested, please submit your resume and the application form on the MCIS Application website by Monday, May 15th, 2017, 11:59pm. Successful applicants will be invited to an in person interview on May 19th or 20th, 2017.

GMCA 2017 Practice Case Interview Series (PCIS)

Dear GMCA Member,

We are excited to invite you to join our 2017 Practice Case Interview Series (PCIS), a two-day program that serves as a great introduction to the consulting case interview process.

The PCIS will happen from 6pm to 8pm, on May 17th & 18th, 2017, at UC 140, University of Toronto. This program is open to everyone, aiming to provide an introduction to:

  1. What is a case interview
  2. Types of cases (written, presentation, oral, etc.)
  3. Basic tools required to crack a case
  4. Resources to prepare for the interview
